The Lyceum

Joy Division's performance at the Lyceum, in London, on Feburary 29th, 1980. This is a hodgepodge of a few different sources. The soundcheck comes from Duncan's master. Three tracks from the concert comes from Heart & Soul, one track from a matrix of Duncan's master and newly discovered partial soundboard recording. The guy at PoIT did the work and let me say that it is hands down the greatest single recording of a live Joy Division song.

Everything is so clear and the drums and bass thump like the should. It sounds absolutely beautiful. If we could have gotten the whole show it really would have sold some high numbers. What if.....

the rest of the CD represents some shady bootleg CD. It is the "worst" of the four sources. I've included an MP3 set of yet another audience records. For comparisons sake.

It took forever for me to compile the best lossless source I could find, but I found it, and here it is. Though it would be a dream come if Duncan's master started circulating. I'm sure quite a few people have it already.

And another note for the people at Power of Independent Trucking blog. Can you squeeze anything else out of the sounboard? These Days sounds fucking phenomenal.
