Plan K 1980

Janurary 17th, 1980. This concert was videotaped, but they wont release it. The audio doesn't sound that great either, so i'm not sure why i'm uploading it. Here it is anyway.

Malvern

April 5th, 1980. Sourced from the Winter Gardens bootleg, not a bad show at all. I love the shows from February-May 1980. Another show that could use a generation upgrade. I bet the master sounds fantastic, wherever it is....

Guilford

November 1st, 1979. This concert surfaced in 2008, and was recorded by a friend of Steve Morris, and was worked on by the guy who did the Moonlight Shows and the 2007 reissues. We get another Candidate.

Literature

Random stuff. Heart & Soul booklet, articles, interviews, lots of pictures, scans.

Bournemouth

November 2nd, 1979. Great sounding show. Two different sources. Used the Heart & Soul tracks as they sound better than the Winter Gardens CD, but H&S only has three tracks, so it's a hodgepodge. Supposedly a Duncan recording. Would be nice if he'd just release his master.

Electric Ballroom

Joy Division's two performances at the Electric Ballroom in Auguest and October of 1979. Both very decent sounding Joy Division concerts. Both are audience recordings that suffer from generation loss. We take what we can get though.

Additional Material

Some things I left out of the Warsaw post. Joy Division's very first set of Warsaw demos. Ceremony/In a Lonely Place, At a Later Date (Live), and surely something else.

Atjanta Theater

April 1980. Joy Division's second to last concert. This is from the "good" source, the A Journey that Leads to the Sun bootleg.'' There is another recording which is inferior, but more commonly ciruclated. Still, like a bunch of other shows, it would benefit heavily from the master upgrade.

Nashville Ballroom

Very nice early gig from Joy Divison. September 22nd, 1979, mixing desk tape. Remastered by tir13een. She's Lost Control is arresting.

Prince of Wales

August 2nd, 1979. This is not the best tape, but it's certainly worth a listen. Autosuggestion alone is worth the download.

The Cover Project

Ninety-six Joy Division covers. Roughly 40 of them are Love Will Tear Us Apart. I searched far and wide for anything I could find.

Preston

full of technical problems for sure, but it's still a great manic performance.

FLAC

The Factory, Hulme - 9/28/1979

this surfaced just last year. It's an old school Joy Division soundboard, and is reasonably clear. One of the better older recordings thats for sure, and even the cleanest early soundboard (the rest do sound like shit).

RECYCLE - FLAC

A little while ago, a famous blog started remastering all the Joy Division singles and select b-sides. Huge efforts were made to ensure the best sound quality possible, plus exclusive never before heard tracks were offered as bonuses. It had been known that even on Joy Division's official releases, several tracks were not mastered at the correct speed. The Recycle Project fixed this and now for the first time, She's Lost Control, Ice Age, Dead Souls, These Days and Colony can be heard at the correct pitch. Also included are three exclusive live tracks (including two posted here previously in m4a only) graciously remastered and presented here in FLAC. Note: the tracks were originally sourced from the long OOP 1991 Japanese Remaster boxset. All of the songs from the blog have not been made available in FLAC and probably wont ever, but they were kind enough to give us the pitch corrected tracks, the A-sides, select b-sides, and the exclusive live tracks including Twenty Four Hours from the original pressing of the Still (LP) vinyl, and hasn't been made available since. Until now.
